Brymbo Cricket Club has a long tradition of successfully developing a number of cricketers over the years. The Junior Section caters for youngsters from 5 - 17 years of age and fields representative teams at Under 9, 11, 13 and 15. All juniors are coached by qualified ECB coaches.
During the 2022 season, all junior teams did well in their leagues, with many of our youngsters also progessing to play for the senior teams too. We also have juniors representing Wales, North Wales and North Wales Girls at various levels, which is a fantastic achievement.
The current Glamorgan CC Captain, David Lloyd, is a former junior at Brymbo. In a recent interview, David stated that he first started playing cricket at the age of 7 while watching his Dad and Uncle play at Brymbo. He also added "I have a lot of people to thank for helping me in becoming a cricketer, especially Brymbo Cricket Club."

2023 promises to be exciting times for the junior section of the Club. More than ever, there is a need to get juniors involved in playing sport and Brymbo Cricket Club aims to play its part.
Net Facilities
The club, in conjunction with the ECB, has invested in a two lane net facility at the ground. This will enable our juniors to enjoy high quality practice facilities in a safe environment, supervised by qualified coaches.
Brymbo Bears Sessions
In 2021, with the financial support received from Brymbo Community Council and Tesco Bags of Help, we launched our Brymbo Bears section, which has proved very popular and successful.
These sessions run every Friday evening, commencing 28 April 2023 through to early September, for primary school children - age 7 to 9 from 6.00 pm to 6.45 pm.
The sessions are free of charge and the aim is to focus on the basics of cricket in a fun, relaxed environment. The club provides all provide any equipment needed for these sessions.

Junior Cricket Sessions
The highly successful sessions for the older juniors (aged 10 and above) is also continuing this year, under the watchful eye of First Team regular, and Head Coach, Gareth Boys. These sessions (aged 13 & under) also run every Friday night between 6 - 7.30 pm, commencing Friday 21 April 2023 through to early September. The sessions enable the youngsters to build on their skills as they begin to play the full version of the game of cricket.
The under 15s will train every Tuesday & Thursday with the senior players & this commences at 6.00 pm on 4 April 2023.
Junior membership costs only £30.00 for a year.
